It's that time of year again!!
Pumpkin Heads of Years past:
I have been making these for several Halloweens now
but they are a little different every time.
But what always stays the same is
the Ground beef and carrots (Sorry Hubby...)
Here is the Original recipe:
Trick or Treat Turnovers from Taste of Home
This year I fried up some panchetta to go with the beef.
I remembered this year to use regular biscuits- NOT the flaky ones....
Fry some meat, season to taste.
I fried the panchetta first, then added the ground beef.
I used Salt, onion and garlic powder and Worcestershire sauce.
Once the meat cooks up a bit, add the carrots and minced garlic.
Once there is no more pink add your cheese and mustard.
I can't say I have measurements really...
I used 1.5 lbs beef, Match stick carrots, maybe a tablespoon of minced garlic, sprinkled the seasoning then a handful of cheese- adjust to however you like to flavor your meat =)
You can probably even use a taco seasoning mix if the mood strikes.
Buy some jumbo refrigerated biscuits.
I rolled them out so they were 5-6 inches in diameter.
Spoon about 1/2 cup of meat then add the top rolled out biscuit.
I cut pumpkin faces out for mine.
Bake on a greased pan (I lined mine with parchment for easy cleanup)
@ 350* for 20 mins
I brushed the tops with an egg wash prior to inserting in the oven.
Make some this year for a quick before Trick Or Treat Dinner! =)

I bought some fun icing decorations to bake with for Halloween!
I saw these over the summer and almost bought them then
I had to make these......
and these were so cute!
I didn't know if I would miss our meeting closer to
Halloween at work so I made them early.
(for our 10/10/13 mtg)
I used a red velvet cake mix and tub frosting
(since the decorations were the star)
LOOK how red it was....like ketchup!

I was so excited to find a new Local yarn Shop in the area!
I had to go immediately.
The store is called Crochet Innovations.
I liked being able to go into a store that was maily Crochet-bc most all of them focus on Knitting...
I don't knit.
I met the owner, she was very pleasant and helpful
The store was pretty busy because it was part of the Annual Yarn Discovery Tour.
I can't wait to go back again soon!!!
oooo look at it =)
I have a hand sanitizer cozy to try to make using this :
I saw several Shawl Pins Online I liked but once at the store I bought this one.
Fall Spiral Scarf
I started as soon as I got home from the shop...
Pattern: Rah Rah Ruffles by Red Heart
Berroco Vintage Yarn: Purple
Berroco Vintage Chunky Yarn: Green
**I didn't mean to get one chunky and one regular...**
I had run out of the Green a bit earlier than I had wanted...

I had bought some Lion Brand Heartland yarn a few months back and could not wait to use it!
It is super soft- plus I had coupons haha
This pattern is the Daylight Tweedy Shawl from Lion Brand
I am not into V stitches like this pattern called for- I get the rows all out of order.
