Cornish Pasties, with recipe

Hi! Yet again another new recipe ;)

I saw this in a cookbook from the library and since it was basically Meat, potatoes and bread...I thought it might be a winner! If you google the recipe name- you will get back a ton of different versions. This one is pretty basic- the way I like it. Who needs tomatoes and peppers??

Fry the veg

Add the meat and continue to fry

Add the other ingredients

slap it on some pie crust

fold it over and crimp

bake

ta-dah!   hahahaha

The original recipe came from a library cookbook- but I have since modified it.

Cornish Pasty

8 oz ground beef
1/3 cup carrot
1/3 cup potato
3/4 cup beef stock
2 Tbsp ketchup
1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
Salt & pepper
1 pkg Refrigerator Pie crust
1 beaten egg

Preheat Oven to 425 degrees

Filling:
Fry the carrots and potatoes for 5-10 minutes. Next add the ground beef, season and cook until no longer pink (8-10 minutes). Stir in Ketchup, stock and Worcestershire. Continue to cook until potato is tender. Cool.
Unroll pie crust & cut in half, spoon some filling onto half of the pie crust, fold pastry over and seal - crimping with fork. (see pic above). Poke a few holes for venting.
Brush a thin later of beaten egg on top and bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
