I didn't think it particularly think it tasted like Sprite- but it was tasty. Q said, maybe if we didn't put it in we would notice a change in the taste.
Dutch Oven Chicken, Life in the loft house
4 carrots, cut in 4 inch length (Or just use baby carrots)
6-8 potatoes, diced
1/2 lb. bacon
8 boneless chicken breasts
1/2 cube butter or margarine
1/2 can 7-Up or Sprite
seasoning salt
Garlic Powder
Dice and fry 1/2 lb bacon in 14 inch dutch oven or on
stove top. Set bacon aside. Leave grease in. Coat
chicken breasts in flour and brown in bacon grease.
(Add oil if necessary.) Add bacon to chicken. Season
liberally with seasoning salt, garlic powder, salt & pepper. Put vegetables on top of chicken. Add 1/2 cube
butter, 1 cup water and 1/2 can of 7-Up. Cover and cook over coals 45 minutes to 1 hour. (Or, bake in
covered casserole dish @ 350 degrees for 2 to 2 1/2 hours.)
You can open and stir occasionally and get more flavor on the vegetables.
