- Frank Scarcelli, the superintendent of Clarksburg Public Works, who was a dedicated family man and highly valuable employee. He worked for the city for more than 40 years before passing away last Saturday.
- The organizers and the participants of the 2012 J. Cecil Jarvis Greater Clarksburg 10K. The event again went off smoothly and showcased both competition and camaraderie, as well as what’s great about Clarksburg, Harrison County and the North Central region.
- More than 100 volunteers who participated in the United Way of Harrison County’s Day of Action.
- Clarksburg Police for its efforts to revive Neighborhood Watch programs throughout the city.
- Health Access Inc., for continuing to provide care for those without health insurance.
- The state’s Summer Food Service Program for helping make sure children get healthy meals during the summer.
- Bridgeport WV Go Skateboarding Day Extravaganza organizers for continuing to support this niche activity in the community.
- Harrison County students who are practicing hard for the summer theater production of “Godspell Jr.,” to be performed June 28-30 at Bridgeport High School.
