Applesauce, with recipe

Well...I failed at taking pictures of the applesauce I made....it's long gone and everyone enjoyed it!
The recipe is easy and with the help of an apple peeler, corer and slicer- it goes fast.
I bought mine at Walmart last year or so and it is so helpful!

We inherited 2 boxes of apples this fall! Hubby suggested looking up a pie filling recipe that we could freeze and use at a later date- like Christmas cookie time =)

Birthday Pics

The Sunday night before my birthday we went to Mom's for cake =-)

At work I came into my cube decorated, Cake (Nancy), Brownies (Jenn) and Cookies (Arleen), cupcakes (Liz) Cards, gifts AND lunch!

Hubby got me an awesome new rolling pin I have been eyeing! It has bands on it to measure the thickness of the dough. I cannot wait to make Christmas cookies with it!!!! Did you know you are supposed to OIL rolling pins?? This new one tells me so haha.

It was like birthday all week- because later in the week I got another gift AND cake! =-)

I found this recipe in a Fix it and Forget it Crockpot cookbook from the library.
You can probably make it with ground chicken or turkey too.

I had another request for a baby hat in the form of a Cleveland Browns helmet!

All of the info is the same from the hat from last week- I just used the 0-3 month version of the pattern. =)

Trick or Treat Turnovers AKA Pumpkin Heads!, with recipe

Happy (early) Halloween!!
I made the annual pumpkin heads early this year since Q was home from school and didn't know if he would be back before Halloween. Looking through my posts I don't see that I posted about these in 2014...but I find that unlikely- maybe it's under a different blog title. Or I made them and kept them a secret from all of you! ;)

Dill Pickle Soup, with link to recipe

Lunch one week consisted of a new recipe that was floating around on the web...Pickle Soup!
It was like Potato Soup with pickles. I liked it- next time I think I would omit the pickle chunks and just use the juice...

FO: OSU washcloth & Coasters

I decided the bathroom needed a touch of OSU lol so I made a washcloth.
You know- to wipe the sink after a Black and White cat who shall remain nameless sits on the SINK.
See the post prior to this for details...

Slow Cooker Twenty Garlic Chicken, with Recipe

This is totally going in the "Make more often" pile... it was SO good.

I got this recipe from Aunt Betty in an email probably.
I should have made more than 2 breasts. I prepped it the night before so it could just be dumped into the crock pot. Also- I peeled the garlic BEFORE cooking- so I could just take it right out and use it. I mashed some of it up in mashed potatoes. The recipe does not call for water- we did not add any.

Tiramisu Brownies, with recipe

Q had been wanting Tiramisu anything for a while- so I had this recipe in the pile and decided to try it out.
Seemed like the guys liked it. I did :)

This was a Betty Crocker recipe- click here.

Tiramisu Brownie Bars

1 box brownie mix
Chocolate syrup- if brownie mix doesn't come with syrup
½ cup cold brewed coffee
½ cup vegetable oil
1 egg
1- 8oz pk cream cheese
½ cup powdered sugar
2 teaspoons of Rum extract or 2 Tablespoons of light Rum*
1 ¼ cup whipping cream
1 tablespoon of cocoa powder

*I used 1 Tbsp rum and 1 tsp vanilla

  1. Heat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pan). Grease bottom only of 13x9-inch pan with shortening or cooking spray.
  2. In large bowl, stir together brownie mix, pouch of chocolate syrup (from brownie mix box), 1/4 cup of the coffee, the oil and egg until well blended. Pour into pan.
  3. Bake 22 to 24 minutes or until toothpick inserted 2 inches from side of pan comes out almost clean. Drizzle remaining 1/4 cup coffee over warm brownies. Cool completely in pan on cooling rack, at least 1 hour.
  4. In medium bowl, beat cream cheese and powdered sugar with electric mixer on medium speed until smooth. Beat in rum extract; set aside. In chilled small bowl, beat whipping cream with electric mixer on high speed until stiff peaks form. Fold whipped cream into cream cheese mixture. Spread over cooled brownies.
  5. Sift or sprinkle cocoa over top. Cover; refrigerate at least 2 hours or until topping is firm. Cut into 8 rows by 3 rows. Store covered in refrigerator.
