Sunday Gravy and biscuits

I had extra evaporated Milk and found a recipe for biscuits...
but I don't know off hand where the recipe went!
I will have to see if I even still have it.

I do know I had to have Milk with Vinegar in it.

and lots of Flour. I have no pastry blender so I had to use knives...
that was fun.

MMM chunky milk...

SO STICKY!

I then rolled them too thin.

Yes those are two pots of sauce...one with meatballs only and the other with ground beef and sausage.

I then put them in the baking dish and melted some cheese on them.

Valentines Cupcakes 2012

Just some Chocolate and Yellow cupcakes frosted with Peanut Butter Frosting.
It was a box mix from Mrs Fields...I didn't know they even had their own mix.
I googled a frosting recipe and used less PB and more Milk than the recipe called for.

I bought these icing decorations for the cupcakes....

can anyone tell me what BPB stands for???

Easter Breakfast! Recipe Included =)

Chocolate Gravy ! MMMM

1/4 Cup of Cocoa

1/4 Cup pf Flour, pinch of salt

1 Cup of Sugar

Whish together to break up chunks of cocoa

I used 1/8 Cup of each of the above cocoa.
But I have used Hershey's and Nestle's cocoa too.

Next pour 2 Cups of Milk

Add just enough milk to form a smooth paste

Turn the stove on medium heat and continue adding milk, adding slowly, a little at a time.

Once all the milk has been added and the mixture is thick like gravy,
take off the heat and add some vanilla.

Pour on warm biscuits and ENJOY!!!
We usually have this at Easter and Christmas.

Happy Easter 2012!!

We got an Easter Egg Coloring Kit that had these foil sheets to rub on the eggs, after dipping.
And they sure were a pain! lol

Q's custom dipped egg

The three best eggs

My custom egg- well the second one.
It's supposed to be a pink orange, but you can't really tell in the photo.
The first one I might have accidentally dropped when trying to foil
and I might have accidentally thrown the egg at the table after I dropped it.
Rage Face Much?

Hope everyone had a Great Easter!

Weekend Baking/Cooking

MMMM Potato Soup and Cookies!!
I thought I had this recipe posted somewhere, bc you know I make everything different from what the recipe says....
You should be able to click the link above-if not I posted the recipe in its entirety below.
I fry some bacon in Olive oil, about 1/2-1 lb.

Add in the broth

Toss in the potatoes and season. Cover and simmer til potatoes are tender (15-20 mins)
Once cooked, add the milk.
Then I use a potato masher and mash up some of the potatoes, but not all bc we like chunks.

Yeah it's THIS good...Not much left when we make it.

Potato Soup Recipe
Campbells Creamy Irish Potato Soup

2 Tablespoons of Butter  I don't use this

4 medium green onions, sliced (about 1/2 cup)  I don't use this

1 stalk celery, sliced (about 1/2 cup)  I don't use this either

***I fry bacon in Olive Oil instead, then continue with the directions

1 3/4 cups Swanson® Chicken Broth  we use boullion cubes

1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper

3 medium potatoes, sliced 1/4-inch thick (about 3 cups)

1 1/2 cups milk

***In reality, we use 5 chicken boullion cubes, to 4 cups of water and we ALWAYS use RED potatoes...it's a must or I won't make it. And we use a 5 lb bag lol.

1.Heat the butter in a 3-quart saucepan over medium heat. Add the onions and celery and cook until they're tender.

2.Stir the broth, black pepper and potatoes in the saucepan and heat to a boil. Reduce the heat to low. Cover and cook for 15 minutes or until the potatoes are tender.

3.Place half of the broth mixture and half of the milk in a blender or food processor. Cover and blend until smooth. Repeat with the remaining broth mixture and remaining milk. Return to the saucepan and heat through.

Q was so upset he didn't even eat them.
(He chose this recipe)
To be honest I think it was the one on the back of the Peanut Butter Baking Chips bag
but it was so long ago I could be wrong...

This was my choice.
The recipe on the back of this bag....I didn't use it.
I used the Nestle's toll house morsels bag and I just used these baking chips in place of the chocolate chips.
