AND WE WON!!!

Cleveland Indians Game part 1

We got free tickets to a Cleveland Indians game for (almost) any game in July.
We only had 2 game options for nights we had Q so July 5th it was.
It was HOT and it was Dollar Dog night too!
They were handing out Small white towels that said:

"It's Tribe Time Now"

We got 2 of them, my boys were happy. =)
Q for a souvenir, Hubby for a towel to wipe sweat on lol.

Enjoy the pics...I know how awesome they but please don't take them

Haha the Q under the Q  LOL

We had pretty good seats! 125, one section over and we would have been hit by foul balls...

ALL THOSE HOT DOGS!!

EVEN MORE HOT DOGS!!
I think that was the last time they flashed the sign.

Karleigh's cake

I was recommended to make a graduation cake for a former coworkers niece.
She wanted a 3 tier marble cake-with photos on the cake, similar to

So I rolled out fondant, made stars and colored with edible markers.
Then rolled out black fondant to resemble a film strip,
and made the white panels with the white fondant.

Typically I bake the cakes in my kitchen then take them to my cake room upstairs.
My assistant, Q was my runner if I needed anything. =)

Q and I delivered the cake to Avon- about a 35-40 minute drive.
So we get all the way there without incident. Then pull in the driveway...
There was a huge curb from the street to the driveway apron and the cake smashed in on itself...
the frosting between the layers was goobin' out all over...

after a quick fix, we assembled the cake and away we went.

They were impressed with Q's extensive knowledge
of the types of frosting that can be used on a cake.

Congrats Karleigh!!!

4th of July 2012

I hope everyone enjoyed their 4th of July holiday!!
We had a nice relaxing day of crochet and loom knitting (Q).
Then we went to our friends, Rachel and Josh's for their annual cookout.

I made brownies by special request ;)
Here is the conversation.

Rachel: Everyone keeps asking me what they should bring and I keep telling them alcohol, ha-ha
Angie: So does that mean I should put some Godiva Liqueur in the brownies?
Rachel: NO DON'T YOU DARE CHANGE THAT RECIPE!!!

I made 2 9x13 pans...below is pan #2...

She lives across from a big baseball field that everyone in the neighborhood goes to
to watch people blow off fireworks.
I tried to take some pics via iPhone....
maybe one day I upgrade my camera because my pics look kinda lame anymore lol

Tree

There was a storm the other morning (I think it was 7/5) and I came home to this...
Well, it was the house across from us, but still...poor little tree never stood a chance.

Editor’s note: The Exponent Telegram devotes Saturday’s editorial to recognizing positive efforts from people throughout our readership area. We call this feature “Hats Off!” To nominate a person or group for recognition, contact John Miller, (304) 626-1473, or James Logue, (304) 626-1031.

We salute:

 - The five people selected as honorees for this year’s West Virginia Italian Heritage Festival: the late Frank Scarcelli, Father of the Year; Frank “Pooch” Gabor, Italian American Man of the Year; Dr. Clara Spatafore, Italian American Woman of the Year; Tommy Thomas, Honorary Italian Man of the Year; Jane White Gabor, Honorary Italian Woman of the Year.

 - The various power, tree and road crews who have been working around the clock to restore electricity to thousands of residents affected by last Friday’s storm. Also, the police, fire and EMS crews who have worked diligently to keep us safe during this state emergency.

- Local, state, Highland Hospital and Fairmont General Hospital officials who worked to find a solution to the disagreement over a new mental-health facility in Clarksburg. With FGH’s appeal out of the way, Highland can move forward with its plans to renovate the old United Hospital Center. The facility will have a staff of about 250.

- Organizers and supporters of area 4-H camps held each summer. These week-long events help to provide educational opportunities in a fun setting.

- Organizers and supporters of the annual National Junior Firefighters Camp held at the State Fire Academy at WVU Jackson’s Mill. This worthwhile program trains teens on the various firefighting and lifesaving techniques.

- The Stonewall Jackson Amateur Radio Association, which participated in the American Radio Relay Association’s annual Field Day. The event tests each area’s ability to stay in contact with areas around the country. “Ham” radios are crucial to communications in times when natural or manmade disasters interrupt normal communications services.

- Janice McMurdo, Mark Shelhammer and others who have stopped by the state veterans nursing facility or the local VA hospital to provide entertainment to our military men and women who fought to keep this country free.
